"Hugh, wait!" I yelled after my blue haired friend as he ram into the sewers of Castielia. I ran after him, but I really didn't want to go into the sewers. It was dark, and probably full of Poison types. I hate poison types, after what they did to Noeki... I walked down the stairs into the sewers. God it was dark.
Suddenly, I heard my name. "Ivory, down here! Come on!" Hugh yelled. I ran up to him, almost falling onto him. "Hey, what's wrong? You're not scared are you?" He said as he caught me. I shook my head, but I was shivering. "Well, we'll be out of here in no time. I'll take care of healing our Pokemon, so don't worry." He told me, a spark of determination in his dark blue eyes. I nodded, and began to lead us through the sewers, and most likely already starting to get lost. Then, I heard Pokemon cries. me and Hugh turned around to see a Zubat and a Rattata. Zubat's were Poison and Flying, and as soon as I realized that, I froze up.
"Dove!" Aiko, my Pidove, let herself out of her Pokeball to fight. "Dove, Pi, Pidove!" She cooed at me. I don't speak Pokemon, but I knew what she wanted me to do. I needed to fight, and get over this.
"Aiko, Air Cutter!" I told her. She used that, while Hugh's Pignite used Flame Charge. The Zubat was left flying. It used Bite, and charged at Aiko, who was flying right in front of me. I screamed, and fell to the ground as the Zubat missed and flew close to my head.
"Ivory! Pignite, Flame Charge!" Hugh commanded his Pignite as he knelt next to me. "Ivory, are you okay?" He asked, but his words were a whisper. My last gym battle with Noeki played through my mind. Her Whirlipede had used Venoshock on my Patrat, knocking her out in one hit. But, it was so violent. Her fur had burned off, and Noeki could barely breathe. I held her in my arms as she died. Mizuki, my Growlithe took care of it, I think. I wasn't paying attention. I was trying to wake Noeki up, though I knew she was dead. Roxie helped me bury her, saying sorry so many times. I had raised Noeki from level 2 to level 17, she was my first caught Pokemon.
"Ivory!" hugh's voice snapped me back to reality. I was holding myself, and tears were running down my cheeks. "Are you alright?" He asked again. i looked at him, and nodded meekly. Then he asked me a question that I didn't want to answer. "Are you afraid of Poison types?" Aiko landed on his shoulder, my were shaking, she could never stay on them.
"Yeah." I answered. then he did something I thought was extremely unlike him. He hugged. Tightly. "Don't worry," he said as I started to cry, over Noeki again. "I'll protect you." We sat like that for a few more minutes, then got up off of the cold floor. We encountered many more Poison types, so I hid behind Hugh as he knocked them out. I didn't realize it until now, but I really like Hugh. More then a friend, or a rival, or even as a trainer. Much more than that. He's my hero, and I'm glad I know him.
